About AB+DM

Since forming their creative bond, Ahmad Barber and Donte Maurice have built a creative world that offers an endearing approach to fashion and portraiture through color and texture. Together, the duo has created renowned images for leading fashion and lifestyle publications, including InStyle, Interview, Vanity Fair, CR Fashion Book China, i-D Japan, Harper’s Bazaar Arabia, Time, Essence, and the American and British editions of GQ. They have collaborated with brands and networks such as Apple, HBO, Disney, Warby Parker, Google, Viktor & Rolf, Nike, L’Oréal Paris, and Smartwater. The duo has captured definitive imagery of key figures across fashion, film, celebrity, and culture, including Iman, Ariana Grande, Mariah Carey, Zendaya, Viola Davis, Lady Gaga, Pharrell Williams, Teyana Taylor, Glen Powell, J Balvin, Anne Hathaway, Will Smith, Cardi B, Simone Biles, and Stacey Abrams. Through their partnership, AB+DM has fostered in-depth connections with their illustrious subjects in ways that allow their images to not only stand apart, but earn deep reverence. Their work has won numerous accolades, including Feature Fashion Photography Story from The Society of Publication Designers, Cover of the Year from the ASME National Magazine Awards, and the Neal Photography Award. They have also had the honor of exhibiting their work in institutions such as The High Museum of Art in Atlanta, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. Beyond their photographic work, they currently serve as Creative Directors for Black Fashion Fair, an organization dedicated to uplifting Black fashion designers and creatives. In this role, they have spearheaded many projects, including the organization’s acclaimed inaugural publication, Black Fashion Fair Volume 0: SEEN. Above all, the two continue to create images that unabashedly speak to their purpose while continually expanding the visual vocabulary of AB+DM.

How does payment work?

Your card is authorised at checkout but not charged until the mentor confirms your session. If they decline or don't respond, the hold is released automatically and you're never billed.

When will my session be confirmed?

Mentors typically confirm within 24–48 hours. You'll receive an email the moment your booking is approved, along with the session link or location details.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

You can cancel or reschedule from your bookings dashboard. Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the session receive a full refund. Within 24 hours, please reach out to support@talented.nyc.

How do sessions take place?

Sessions are either video (via Zoom) or in-person, depending on the mentor's availability settings. The format is shown when you select a time slot.

Is my information secure?

Yes. Payments are processed by Stripe — TalentED never stores your card details. All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

What do I get after the session?

Every session includes a personalised summary and clear next steps sent to your email within 48 hours of the session completing.
